Faster Video Publishing Process

February 27th, 2007

Last week, we introduced a much more automated process for reviewing and publishing videos on the site.  Our development team has been working hard on this for many weeks because we sensed that our members were getting frustrated by the long time it was taking to get videos published to the site (and so was our staff!).

The new process should dramatically reduce the time it takes to publish your videos.  Videos that were uploaded a week ago have already been published and we hope to reduce the turnaround time to just a few days or less.  Of course, you may still see some delays during peak promotion times but even then, the publishing process should be much faster than in the past.

As part of this new process, we've also introduced some additional video statuses to make the review and publishing process more transparent.  You'll now see statuses that show when your video is received, processing, has a video error, is pending review and then approved, rejected or duplicate.

We are working hard on many other improvements to expotv.com and plan to launch a new version of the site soon so stay tuned!  As always, we welcome and value any feedback from our members so please keep posting your suggestions on the forums.

The new posting process rocks! I was amazed at how quickly everything was showing up on the site. One question, will this mean that some of our older videos will be posted to the site soon as well? Keep up the awesome work Expo!

Bill! Scott Spencer you’re old buddy here. Looks like ExpoTV is going fantastic. Shoot me a line so we can catch up. Have something interesting to share.

    Regards,
